🔗 Share this article The second-hand marketplace Shoppers Voice Frustration Over Sizing Changes Shoppers are voicing their frustration due to a modification that led to listings displaying inaccurate size information. The popular resale platform has altered its sizing categories for women's and children's garments without notifying every member regarding the update. Social Media Reaction Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms stating that platform listings now display a modified sizing category versus the original listing because of the remapping. The platform stated the revised method more closely matches comparable marketplaces. The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand when needed, which has left users frustrated. Measurement Approach Modifications Before the change, the sizes had both one number and one letter, such as S/8 or M/10. The updated approach includes a letter and a range for example S/UK 8-10. For certain items, the measurements have been reclassified - like an L measurement used to be a 12 but currently displays as UK 16-18. Member Accounts Frankie Bridger, who produces content about larger sizing, said the change "makes both selling and buying harder". "Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," the way the service now categorizes. A different member, from Glasgow, said garments she listed featuring size 14 markings were showing in the marketplace as size 20–22. "If buyers measuring 20-22 acquire them they may become frustrated," she stated. Required Changes A different user, based in Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizing for "all her products". "For me this is particularly frustrating, because of my ongoing medical condition and platform income has been essential for me since losing part of my income," she explained. Platform Context The service features exceeding 100 million users, including 18 million in the UK. It has emerged as a preferred choice versus similar marketplaces including eBay and Depop. This isn't the first time when a surprising modification on the platform has faced criticism: last year, the service retracted a modification concerning shipment methods after backlash from users.
