Ten individuals sentenced of cyber-bullying against Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has ruled against ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the wife of French President, Emmanuel Macron.

The accused individuals faced allegations of circulating fabrications regarding her sex and sexuality, in addition to publishing defamatory statements about the husband and wife's significant age difference.

The court handed down suspended jail terms of up to eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has yet to be released.

A longstanding false narrative suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a person assigned male at birth has spread widely since her husband's rise to the presidency in 2017.

This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons initiating a libel case in the United States against political commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared comparable unfounded claims about the French president's wife's gender.

Their complaint states that Owens disregarded any factual proof contradicting her allegations in favour of give a platform to established defamers.

Owens has frequently reiterated these allegations on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 declared that she would bet her whole career on her conviction that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
